The Fifth Edition of the Festival of Romanians in Israel took place in the city of Tiberias, June 27th – 30th 2013, organized by the Association of Romanian Jews in Israel, with the support of the Romanian Government and in collaboration with the National Television. Continuing the tradition of past editions, the Fifth Edition brought together Jewish and Romanian artists, politicians and celebrities from Israel and Romania.

 

The award was handed to Antonio Calderón de Jesus, in representation of Romeo Niram.

The Sovereign Order of Saint John of Jerusalem – the Knights of Malta offered the Yakir HaShevet awards to Jewish artists and personalities for their outstanding contribution to the development of Israeli – Romanian relations. The artist Romeo Niram was one of the awardees, for his contribution to the promotion of Romanian culture in Diaspora and the support offered to young artists. The award was handed to Antonio Calderón de Jesus, Spanish art adviser, who came to Israel in representation of Romeo Niram.

 

The same awards were granted to deputy Colette Avital, Iuju Orenstein, financial director of the Israel Museum in Jerusalem and Michael Harish, former minister of Industry and Trade. Other artists distinguished at the Fifth Edition of the Festival were Nicu Nitai (actor, director), Rozina Cambos (post-mortem), Itzak Bareket (actor and poet), Geta Munte (actress), Sandra Sade (actress), and Tricy Ambramovici (actress).

Edward Iosiper, the Ambassador of Romania in Israel gave a speech on the good relations between the two countries, Israel and Romania. The presenter of the festival was actress Ramona Badescu, ambassador of the The Sovereign Order of Saint John of Jerusalem – the Knights of Malta.
